Richard was delighted to be asked to give a cookery demonstration at The Wherry School, Norwich with a group of very enthusiastic students from Years 10 & 11 who are studying Hospitality & Catering. The eight students Richard worked with have Autism Spectrum Disorder and find that cooking has a really positive impact on them.
On the menu, two incredible dishes – Scotch Quail Eggs with Wild Garlic Mayonnaise and a Marshmallow Cheesecake! Everyone did amazingly and had a chance to hear Richard’s story, his experience of working in hospitality and the hustle and bustle that goes into running a busy restaurant.
We received feedback from one of the teachers on the day who explained that one student was so inspired by the discussions and his ability to create something from scratch, that he wrote an essay later that day. Richard is so proud to have played a small part in encouraging him to try his best and give that little confidence boost, and found the entire morning so rewarding. He wishes all the participants and teaching faculty all the very best and a bright future!
